It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and once went over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the possibility.

Ultimately, the result of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her bow and seven world titles have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this innings came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it has been a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing completely," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive nature take over and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and after that the right-hander was underway.

"The possibility to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was dismissed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can achieve it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this World Cup need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing through the pain.

But while she afterwards confessed those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this championship is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as skipper.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
